Memorial Day

crocheted everything together...now on to the edge...

I woke up with a granny square pattern buzzing around
in my brain...started crocheting around 6:30am and by
11am I came up with this....to make the triangle all you do
is crochet the four squares together...then starting in any
corner increase area where you have 3dc ch2 3dc...start by a
slip stitch in the ch2 then chain three, 3 dc in next space,
all the way across ending in 1 dc in last ch2 space. Ch 3 turn,
3 dc in next space and in each space across row...1 dc in
last dc chain 3 turn.. continue decreasing until you only have
1 dc, 3dc in top end with 1 dc in last dc. Do this to all
four corners..

I'm now going around all the four big squares with two rows of white.
Then I plan on crocheting black around that and crocheting them all together.
I will decide what to do after that when I get there....

Another Side to Side Ripple

I got this pattern from the Internet.
here's the link to it..
http://home.att.net/~susanBinKC/patterns/ripple.html

I've made a few of these ripples and I think this one
turned out pretty cool looking. It's a very fast
pattern and I whipped this one out in a few evenings.

Basketweave in Marble Burgundy

I used Marble Burgundy yarn from a kit I ordered for a Marbled
Spiral throw from the Mary Maxim catalog.
I changed my mind about the pattern in the kit and decided to
make the basketweave afghan instead.
(10) 100gram skeins, 100% Arcylic Machine Washable
chain 130 ~~~ double crochet the first row ch 2
second row 14 frontpost double crochet, 14 backpost double crochet,
ending in dc in last stitch chain 2 and turn.
after turning always frontpost in the frontpost stitches and
backpost in the back post stitches do this for 10 rows,
then reverse the order. This makes it look like the
basketweave...
I really like the feel of this afghan, it's heavy and soft
and really really warm!

2nd side to side ripple from Scraps

Finally! After 7 long evenings I finished this side to side ripple.
I used the same leftovers from the last side to side ripple
but left out burgandy, white and light green.
This ripple I made using 8 single crochet stitches up and 8 down
instead of the 4 up and 4 down.
It amazes me how different the two afghan look.

Granny Square using Masala YARN

I made this large Granny Square because I was bored with the ripple
side to side I am currently working on. This is really thick yarn
and only took me 4 hours to make. I bought the yarn from a kit
through the catalog from Mary Maxim.
It is very warm, soft and fuzzy.
The yarn makes its own pattern and comes in this color
(Terra Cotta), Blue, Green and I think Rose.
